We purchased the translation devices for our Academic Parent Teacher Team meetings. We have three meetings during the school year. During the meetings, parents talk to their child’s teacher about standards, student growth, and activities they can do at home to help their child. We have a large Hispanic population and these devices provide the essential communication needed for parents who do not speak English. Instead of pulling these parents out of the meeting they feel comfortable with other parents and feel part of the team. Also, we use the translation equipment during our SAC meetings, PTO meetings, and any other parent event.
